* Miscellaneous * * Italian bank manager turns more than 1 million euros from rich to poor *

An Italian bank manager escaped from the rich to give the poor miraculously from jail.
Gilberto Pasquera was a bank manager in the small mountain town of Forni di Supra, where he stole about a million euros over seven years.
Pascera transferred small amounts of bank accounts to wealthy clients to customers who did not have sufficient funds to obtain loans.
But he did not get any money for himself, and escaped prison after he pleaded guilty to the authorities.
The court sentenced him to two years' imprisonment for his crimes. Since this was his first offense and because the punishment was relatively short, Baskerra would not be imprisoned under Italian law.
